the Endless

the Republic of Heaven is the first full-length release from husband-and-wife dreampop band the Endless. After two widely successful EPs, 2002s Grumpy Ghost and 2003s and im the queen of the moon, the Los Feliz, CA-based duo release their most sonically and emotionally complex work yet: a haunting blend of electronic and alternative rock, rich in imagery and hailing from the tradition of such musical innovators as Kate Bush, Poe, Tori Amos, Jane Siberry, and This Mortal Coil. Adriana and David Róze work as a symbiotic unit: lovers, band mates, best friends, and co-creators. As Legends Magazine describes it, "It's almost like these two put everything out there the persons they are, their entire beingsome of the songs appear that personal. Naked indeed."

The albums thematic content came forth following the death of Adrianas mother to cancer: a struggle to understand and accept grief, and the inevitable push to move forward and embrace life after loss. With a title inspired by Philip Pullmans His Dark Materials trilogy, there is love here, and light, and a deep contentment in finding ones place in a world responsible for its own actions: a republic of heaven, rather than a kingdom. The album is a sonic novel, beginning at the end of one life and progressing to the start of a new one. David Rózes warm and melodic guitars and seductive synths are the perfect canvas for Adrianas silvery, plaintive vocals.

In 2004, the Endless were chosen by the revered Amoeba Music of Hollywood as their featured Homegrown Artists, which propelled and im the queen of the moon to become their number 1 independent selling release that winter. In 2006, the band played a featured showcase at the NXNE Music Conference in Toronto. They have headlined at several LA and NYC venues, including Club Violaine, Genghis Cohen, The Mint, The Crooked Bar, BMW Bar, Highland Grounds, and Molly Malones.
