Trancetribe Recordings

In 2005 a competition was held on Trancetribe.com for Australian Trance artists to show the world what they were made of. Following the release of a compilation CD with the best tracks from those artists, Trancetribe Recordings was launched as an outlet for the growing number of Australian Trance artists that came out of the woodwork. From this point, Trancetribe Recordings moved from strength to strength signing up and coming artists from all over the globe.

After an explosive end to 2006 which saw several artists from Trancetribe Recordings signed to high profile international labels, and playlisted by some of the biggest names in the genre, the gears ground to a halt at the beginning of 2007. The Trancetribe Recordings team found themselves in a situation where they had to focus more of their time on their full-time jobs, and realised that they no longer had the time, or the knowledge and resources to keep up with the way things were headed. They also came to another realisation that they had strayed too far from the original mission of the label: To promote and release the highest quality Australian Trance music, and provide a stepping stone for the local market.
The start of 2008 brought a change to that, with adjustments in careers, levels of knowledge and some new Australian artists to join the team, Trancetribe Recordings relaunched itself with its original goal, and a much better idea of how to handle procedures. Trancetribe Recordings had also adopted a new philosophy for its re-launch: Less is more. They realised that by releasing less music, but promoting it at a higher level they could achieve a higher level of recognition and awareness than they had in the previous instance.

In 2008 a new set of rules were set for the procedures Trancetribe Recordings would follow for each release, and this would allow all aspects of the label to work together much more efficiently, allowing more time for promotion of new releases, and the nurturing of new talent.
