At least 500,000 Americans travel to other countries for their medical care annually. Revenue from medical tourism is expected to rise to $100 billion by 2012, says a 2007 report by the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA).

The main reason for this explosive growth is economic opportunity, and the chance for consumers to make their own decisions. People tend to choose a hospital rather than an individual physician; however, they need to also find out about a doctor's background as well.

Testimonials from Past Patients

"If my fellow Canadians know about this place, they will be shocked that such a clean, efficient and friendly city exists all the way over here. Anyone who needs medical treatment should seriously consider Singapore," Allan Drescher (Canada) - about his back surgery

"Everyone was so polite and well-trained. I can safely say that I never truly understood the meaning of professional until I came here and saw it for myself." Gladys Gebert (Mauritius) - about her cervical disc replacement.

"A Prof and the other doctors took pains to explain things to me and kept me informed of everything. The nurses spoilt me. The healthcare system as a whole is really remarkable." Sangeet Kaur Khalsa (Alaska) - about her knee surgery

"Everything was perfect from the time we got off the plane in Singapore. Prof Wong explained everything to us, which made us feel confident and the nurses took excellent care of him. I’ve never seen this level of service before. We will certainly recommend Singapore to anyone frustrated with the long wait for medical care in Canada." Alain Chaloux (Canada) - about his back pain
