The IRS has an update about the new 990, http://snurl.com/3bwsi, which lays out some of the key changes. They plan to post the complete revised directions on their website on August 15th. As a reminder, the new form goes into effect next year (when you file for the 2008 fiscal year).

Thanks everyone who attended yesterday's session! We appreciate that you took the time out of your morning to hear how we're using social media.

It's great to see that many of you became fans of Nonprofits Assistance Fund - hopefully your energy will help the page go to the next level. Let us know if you have any ideas about how we can use this space more effectively.

Best,
Ashley

PS. A special thanks to Crystal for putting her kind words right on our wall!

Thanks to Kate and Ashley for facilitating a terrific MCN Nonprofit Communicators program on Making Web 2.0 Work For You. I was very pleased that this was a "201" look at the tools, rather than the usual "101" program that simply covers the basic definitions.

It was interesting to see the in-depth look at how your organization made the choices of what 2.0 tools to use, and then how you applied that to your entire staff and communications. (Because after all, everyone on an organization's staff is a communicator, whether they realize it or not.) Even if they aren't necessarily the tools that another organization would choose because of their own capacity or audience, it is helpful to see how deliberate and thorough you are in combining all of these tools into a communications strategy.

I took a ton of notes and am looking forward to applying them in my own work!

Hello all,

I just opened a theater in Osseo (about 20 N of the cities off of 169). We have a venue that seats about 107 people. We are excited to be apart of this vibrant community. I'm learning a ton about non-profits and look forward to learning more from this group.

Check out our website at:

We've also got a group on facebook Yellow Tree Theatre
