Founded in 2007 by previous Middlebury College President John McCardell, Choose Responsibility is a non-profit organization aimed at promoting informed debate on responsible drinking and the drinking age. Excessive binge drinking is a dangerous, widespread problem in the U.S., especially on many college campuses. We believe that reconsidering the legal drinking age and creating programs to educate young adults about responsible drinking are possible solutions to this problem; please visit our website to learn more about us!

August 18: Choose Responsibility is pleased to introduce the Amethyst Initiative. The Amethyst Initiative is a growing group of 120 college and university presidents and chancellors believe 21 is not working and support open debate and study on the law and policy alternatives. the case.
