The Center for Arms Control and Non Proliferation, a sister organization of the Council for a Livable World, presents the costs of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan in U.S. taxpayers’ dollars, U.S. lives, and the lives of innocent Iraqi civilians. Find out more at www.armscontrolcenter.org
Al Franken for Senate 08!
he Council for a Livable World, the largest campaign fundraiser for arms control candidates, endorses Al Franken for Senate 08. Franken advocates for setting a time table to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq, opposes building a new generation of nuclear weapons, and supports a nuclear test ban treaty. Al Franken is in the progressive tradition of Minnesota democratic leaders. Support Al Franken at www.livableworld.org/contribute.
GOOD Magazine's Nuclear Weapons

Patrick Murphy for Congress 2008
Rep. Patrick Murphy is running for re-election in Pennsylvania’s 8th congressional district. Rep. Murphy is the only Iraq veteran serving in Congress and has been an outstanding leader in ending the war in Iraq. Republicans are eager to silence this effective voice for peace, and the close vote on 2006 makes them think they can win in 2008. Find out more at www.livableworld.org.

Cheney warned of “serious consequences.” Fast forward to December 2007, it’s confirmed that Iran abandoned its nuclear weapons program in 2003. Moreover, Bush knew that the program “may be suspended” before he made his famous WWIII comment. So why did he still beat the drums of war? Stay Informed: www.livableworld.org
